I have known the Sofen family for a few years. It all started with Meg and Dan’s Victorian Village wedding back in 2011. Easily one of my favorite weddings ever! We’ve ran into Meg and Dan at various weddings over the years(like this one, this one, and ran into mamma Sofen at this wedding) and have always loved catching up with them. Last year we photographed Meg and Dan with their dogs, June and Nell.
This year the family celebrated papa Sofen’s 60th birthday and they asked me to photograph it. I’ve actually never photographed a birthday party before. I gotta say I love it! I honestly think unicorns live on Elkhart Lake though. It was supposed to storm that evening during family portraits and especially during the party. It ended up being a beautiful summer evening thanks to the magic of Elkhart Lake.
The party was executed beautifully. I loved the simple table decor, invites, and various cheeses for the guests to enjoy. Of course I loved seeing The Cavern Beat play again. First time I saw them was at Meg and Dan’s wedding and they brought down the house!
Had the pleasure of meeting Jess and Stephanie from an Eventful Life. They helped plan and coordinate the party – making sure everything was tip top! They are based in Chicago so if any of you are having your wedding or event there and needing a coordinator, give them call! They are super sweet ladies!
