I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to post this wedding! Our friends Erin and Kevin got married last October in Chicago – Kitchen Chicago to be exact. Chicago is one of my favorite cities so it was great being back there photographing a wedding. It is such a beautiful city.
We started out the day with Erin getting ready. I remember Erin sending me a picture of her 1920’s gown shortly before the wedding. I think her dress was just waiting around for decades to have Erin wear it! It was totally meant to be with her. All her bridesmaids wore mismatched gowns of their choice and I love the mix of colors and textures. It really gave the pictures a nice pop!
Erin and Kevin wrote their entire ceremony and had their close friends officiate it. After the I Do’s they were whisked away to a secluded area all to themselves to enjoy a moment alone and some scotch. We ventured outside for portraits at the Art Institute of Chicago. Lucky for us the rain had passed by then and it was quiet and peaceful on the grounds. When we all got back to the venue the dinner table was set. I absolutely love how everything turned out for their dinner. One of the most important things to Erin and Kevin was that their guests enjoyed an amazing dinner with great food and drinks. They chose family style dining and even the pretty plated food was fun to photograph.
One of my favorite parts of the day were the toasts.I really love hearing kind and loving words spoken about the couples by their loved ones. It’s truly beautiful to see two great families come together. I feel like the luckiest person alive to be doing what I do.
Erin and Kevin – thank you for having us along. We are happy you two found each other. You both are gems! Keep shining.
My husband Jonathan of Don’t Shout Films filmed the day alongside me.
