Oh boy, do I have a treat for your eyes today. This is a big blog post because there was just so much pretty at this wedding. I have to show you everything! We traveled to Rochester, Minnesota for Sarah and Ken’s Mayowood Stone Barn wedding back in July. Once in awhile we travel to this great state to shoot a wedding and it never disappoints!
I’d never shot at this venue so going into it I had no idea what to expect, which I love! It is seriously one of the most beautiful venues. And thanks to the “trophy room” one of the most interesting as well! You’ll see what I mean below in the pictures!
I loved their black-tie-meets-rustic theme and they pulled out all the stops for their day. Every foot of their dining room in the main barn was exquisitely decorated. The rustic vibe of the florals, the sequined table cloth, the hanging candles, and all the gorgeous creams and pinks. It really took my breath away when I first walked in that room. They held their ceremony under an old oak tree on the property. Since we did a first look with Sarah and Ken and did all their formals prior to the ceremony they were able to enjoy their cocktail hour with all the guests. We did however sneak them away during dinner to grab a few photos when the sun was setting. It was one of the most stunning “golden hours” I’d had at a wedding.
